The surgeon will work on your nasal bridge, radix and other relevant area in altering the tip. Note that it is your nasal cartilage that influences your nose’ contour, projection, shape and how the tip turns out to be.
A surgeon will normally make necessary incisions that provide for easy access to your nasal bridge, bone and sides of nasal bone. This way, a surgeon will have the opportunity to alter the width of your nose by removing some of the components. The treatment technique employed is referred to as tip plasty, which eventually creates a perfect balance between the lower and upper part of your nose.
During consultation you are obligated to inform a surgeon of your lifestyle and any medications/vitamins/supplements you may be using as such can affect your treatment and also prolong your recovery.
Full recovery can take up to a month. Your recovery period will however depend on the activities you partake, while at home.
Possible complications include excessive bleeding and permanent loss of feeling around the nasal tip. Side effects are generally mild and do fade way after a few days. They include swelling, itchiness around the tip and numbness.
