Male Breast Reduction Thailand

Breast reduction is traditionally a woman’s domain, but it may surprise you to learn that many men opt to undergo male breast reduction in Thailand.  Due to genetic influences and dietary choices and lifestyle factors many men have over developed breasts or excess fatty tissue in their chest areas.  This can be a highly embarrassing condition that can severely affect self-confidence and can lead to depression, poor body image and a tendency to withdraw from social situations.

Gynaecomastia is the medical term for male breast enlargement and it affects a large percentage of men.  To ascertain the best method to assist the patient, a surgical consultation is required.  Here the patient can discuss his expectations with the surgeon and together they can decide on the best course of action.  Some men have sagging skin and fatty tissue around the nipples, while some have what is referred to as puffy nipples.  In both cases the surgeon can explain the best procedure dependant on body type, the amount of reduction required and so on.

Microcannular liposuction is a very effective treatment for this often embarrassing condition.  Microcannular liposuction uses a cannula that is less than 3 millimeters in diameter to perform the liposuction on the breast tissue.  Depending on the procedure decided upon, incisions will be made under the breast in the natural breast crease or a circular incision will be made around the nipple, running down the center of the breast.  This is often referred to as the lollipop or short scar method. 

Scarring is kept to a minimum as the incisions are usually tiny and heal almost imperceptibly.  The cannula creates tunnel like voids in the fatty tissues as excess fatty tissue is sucked out of the area.  When the cannula is removed, these tunnels collapse, minimizing the appearance of the fatty tissue.  Some men may require a breast lift to tighten sagging skin in this area.  After the liposuction procedure, excess skin is trimmed away and the skin is repositioned and is carefully sutured into place.

For some men, they feel that their nipples are too large in comparison to the rest of the chest and they opt for a reduction in nipple size.  The areola, or darker skin around the nipple, can be resized and reshaped, particularly if the nipple has a puffy appearance.  Excess skin and fatty tissue is trimmed away and the nipple is replaced.  Great care is taken to minimize scarring with careful suturing and the patient can expect dramatic results in the appearance of the chest and nipples.

As with any surgery, incisions result in scars of varying degrees.  Depending on what type of incisions are made and on your own genetic predisposition to scarring, your skin type, skin tone, lifestyle, diet and other habits like smoking and consumption of alcohol, you can expect varied results with the healing process.  If you follow your surgeons advice about after would care and wear compression bandages during the healing process you will have minimal scarring and will be thrilled with the results of your male breast reduction surgery in Thailand.
